A Tertiary Degree offers a new pathway from Further Education and Training (FET) to Higher Education, allowing you to progress smoothly toward earning a full bachelor’s degree (i.e. QQI Level 8 Major Award)
The National Tertiary Office developed ‘Tertiary Degrees’ to break traditional barriers associated with CAO points and make earning a bachelor’s degree more accessible and inclusive. Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board has partnered with Technological University of the Shannon (TUS) to co-design and co-deliver these degree programmes.
You will start your studies locally with us at one of our College of FET campuses. After completing Year 1, you will transfer to TUS to complete Years 2, 3, and 4, ultimately graduating with your degree from there.
Tertiary Degree Benefits:
  • No CAO points required
  • Start your degree in your local ETB
  • Lower cost (No college fees while in the ETB)
  • Seamless transition to a Higher Education Institution
  • Graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree
