The Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) requires all new buildings from 2021 to be nearly zero-energy buildings (NZEB). This directive requires all construction professionals to adhere to the NZEB standard and to undergo upskilling to meet the requirements of the sustainable building agenda.
Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board is offering a number of training programmes designed to empower you with knowledge of the principles and practices required to meet the NZEB standard.
This 10-week online programme equips you with the skills to identify, prioritise and implement environmentally sustainable improvements in your workplace. By developing your knowledge on key sustainability issues, you can help your company implement lasting changes that increase competitiveness and profitability whilst reducing costs. On this 1-day programme, delivered at our College of Further Education and Training Centre, NZEB and Retrofitting Centre of Excellence, Roxboro, Limerick, V94C66H you will discover the principles and practices of Nearly Zero Energy Building (NZEB). You will explore NZEB principles, building physics, fabric and services, renewable energy, photovoltaics, smart metering and more.

Thermal Insulation Installation

On this 2-week programme, delivered at our Green Innovation Campus, Roxboro, Limerick, you will learn how to insulate a building using best practices. This includes internal, external, floor and roof insulation. You will also learn how to make a building airtight to minimise unwanted energy losses.
