Our Kilmallock Road Campus in Limerick City is a vibrant and modern Further Education and Training Centre. We offer a wide range of exciting course options, including the Vocational Training Opportunities Scheme (or VTOS for short) – a full-time course of study that is free of charge and offers childcare supports and training allowances. VTOS courses include Office Administration, Healthcare, Retail Skills, Contact Centre Operations, Art, Craft and Design, Engineering, ICT and the Leaving Certificate.
Other course areas on offer at the campus include Youthreach, Pathways to Engineering, Hospitality and the FAI Player Development programme. Further Education and Training will empower you to make the transition back into paid employment or further your studies.

Help Desk Operations
QQI Level 5 Minor Awards
This 14 week full-time course will provide you with the technical skills and knowledge to work as a help desk operator in the services industry. You will gain experience in ICDL, communications, remote working, data analytics, problem-solving and customer service. As part of this course, we’re delighted to offer you 3 days of industry-specific training and 1-week of work placement as a help desk operator.

Environmental Studies
QQI Level 5 Minor Award
This course will give you an understanding of the key processes and practices in environmental management. Modules include natural resources, population and environment, sustainability, climate change, biodiversity, renewable resources, environmental regulation and waste management.
This 14-week part-time course is supported by an exciting guest speaker series. You will attend lectures with environmental experts and leaders from industry, research and education, politics and voluntary environmental groups.

ICDL with Remote Working
Internation Computer Driving Licence certification
The International Computer Driving Licence (ICDL) is the most widely recognised and well-rounded computer certification internationally. This course will give you technical skills and knowledge to gain qualifications in a number of core ICDL awards.Â
Modules covered include; computer essentials, online essentials, remote working, word processing, spreadsheets and databases.

Contact Centre Operations
QQI Level 5 Minor Award
This course will equip you with work-ready skills for contact centre operations. You will learn how to effectively handle customer queries and issues in a contact centre support role. You will also have the opportunity to study additional modules including communications, customer service, database methods and retail sales techniques.

Introduction to Manufacturing and Technology
QQI Levels 3 and 4 Major Awards
You will learn a range of entry-level skills for a future career in engineering, technology, manufacturing and production line operations. Subjects include maths, communications, engineering workshop processes, engineering and production processes, electrical skills, woodwork and IT. This course is practical, hands-on and is delivered within our modern engineering workshop.

Healthcare Assistant
QQI Level 5 Major Award
This course will equip you with the knowledge and skills to work as a healthcare assistant. This QQI Level 5 Healthcare Support Major Award is delivered over nine months and offers a blended delivery of both face-to-face and online classes. Modules include care skills, care of the older person, care support, communications, intellectual disability studies, safety and health at work, palliative care and work experience. Â Patient moving and handling as well as safeguarding vulnerable persons will also be provided.

QQI Level 5 Major Award with ICDL
This course provides high-quality training in administration skills that will equip you to gain employment as a clerical officer, secretary, receptionist and front office operations. It is an intensive nine-month course that covers word processing, text production, spreadsheet methods, bookkeeping, payroll, information and administration, reception and frontline office skills communications, ICDL and work experience. You will also have the opportunity to specialise in digital marketing or medical terminology. This very popular course offers a range of career pathways with proven potential to access employment.

Leaving Certificate
SEC Award at NFQ Level 5
The Leaving Certificate full-time programme has fantastic progression opportunities for adult learners. Our subject choice includes english, maths, biology, physics, economics, accounting, business, art, engineering and construction. Irish is also available if you wish to access the Bachelor of Education Degree course at Mary Immaculate College. If you are an international learner, you will have the opportunity to sit a range of Leaving Certificate language exams. You will study at a pace suitable to your own level of ability in a friendly, learner-centred environment. Intensive supports, including career guidance, is provided. The entry requirement for this programme is Junior Certificate or equivalent, with good proficiency in the English language.

Art, Craft
and Design
QQI Level 5 Major Award
Our course philosophy is simple – explore, express, create. If you have a keen interest in art, this course will enable you to express your creativity through a range of artistic processes including design, ceramics, digital photography, painting, drawing, graphic design, animation and fine art. This course will allow you to develop a portfolio of work suited to your individual interests and talent. The Art Studio at Kilmallock Road Campus is an attractive, well-equipped space that offers a unique learning environment.

English for Employment
QQI Levels 3 and 4 Major Awards
This course helps you to develop english language skills needed for the workplace. A wide range of accredited modules are offered including english for speakers of other languages, communications, maths, ICT, business, healthcare, retail skills and everyday practical skills. Driver theory and taxi licence preparation are also offered. This course is for you if you are a non-native speaker of English.

Retail Skills
QQI Level 4 Major Award
This course will equip you with the knowledge and skills required to work in the retail sector. You will develop the ability to deal with customers, understand retail sales techniques, payment procedures and other aspects of the retail environment. The course is delivered on a modular basis, which gives you the choice of taking up employment or remaining on the course to complete the full award. There is a strong practical element to this course with work experience offered.

Youthreach
at Kilmallock Road Campus
Youthreach is an integral part of the national provision of second-chance education and training in Ireland. It is intended for unemployed early school leavers aged 15 to 20 years old.
Youthreach provides young people with opportunities to identify and pursue viable options within adult life, and provides them with opportunities to gain qualifications. The provision operates on a full-time, year-round basis, and can be applied for at any time of the year.
Youthreach at Kilmallock Road Campus offers Junior Certificate and Leaving Certificate Applied. Some of the many benefits include work experience placements, educational assessments, key-working and mentoring as well as psycho-therapeutic supports. On successful completion, learners are encouraged and supported to progress their studies or seek employment.
