Visit collegeofFET.ie/mulgrave and select a course from the Full-Time listings by clicking the INFO/APPLY button beside it. Clicking this button will take you to FETCH (The Further Education and Training Hub), where you can read more about your selected course and instantly apply for it. After clicking apply on FETCH, you will be asked to register on the FETCH platform by providing personal details, including your phone number, email, and PPS number. From there, follow the remaining steps as outlined on the platform.
The closing date for first-round offers is May 7th. Applications received after this date will be considered for second-round offers, subject to course availability. Application processing typically takes place in August/September 2025.
You will receive a text message prompting you to check your email for an application acknowledgement.
Yes, email apply.msc@lcetb.ie to request changes.
Yes. All applicants must attend a briefing session and interview. Non-standard applicants (those who don’t meet our standard entry requirements as detailed in our brochure) may also need to complete a language or other assessment. All learners attend Orientation at the start of their course in September.
Your application status will update as it progresses through each stage of the admissions process.
There are no fees attached to any of our courses. The maximum materials cost a learner may have to contribute is €200. All other costs, such as registration, exam and application fees, have been removed.
Our QQI Level 5 and Level 6 courses qualify for the SUSI Grant scheme application; more information is available on their website.
Registration details for your course will be provided in the email offering the course.
Learner supports are available all year round through the Active Inclusion Support Service, whose aim is to provide high-quality, more accessible, and flexible education. Supports available include a Learners’ Helpdesk, loan device and laptop management, one-to-one and group learner study skills sessions, IT support, and IT workshops. Learning support is available for learners experiencing difficulties with specific modules, subject to resource availability. For more information, email activeinclusion@lcetb.ie.
We offer learners a comprehensive guidance counselling service, including advice on higher education options. The campus’s Guidance Counsellors are available for appointments for all registered learners. Applicants should contact the guidance counselling service at the time of registration.
Where possible, every effort is made to facilitate applicants with additional needs. If you have additional needs, please let our guidance couneselling team know when regsitering for your course. The counsellors will facilitate the processing of applications for funding to SOLAS.
FAQs: Part-Time Evening Courses
There are three ways to enrol:
- Online: Visit collegeofFET.ie/mulgrave, scroll down to the part-time evening listing, select your chosen course, hit ‘APPLY’ and follow the steps.
- In-Person: Drop in to our campus and speak with a member of our Information and Guidance Support Team. They will help you enrol for your chosen course.
- By Post: Send a completed application form with payment (cheque, bank draft, or postal order made payable to Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board) to Evening Programmes, College of FET Mulgrave Street Campus, Limerick City, V94 P232. Please note: for security reasons, we cannot accept cash payments.

Yes. There are tuition fees for our part-time courses. Exam or registration fees by validating bodies are separate. Please see their websites for more.
Yes, a 20% discount on tuition fees is available to:
- Individuals on Full Job Seekers Allowance/Benefit, Disability Allowance, or One Parent Family Payment.
- Full-time Mulgrave St Campus learners.
- Senior citizens.
Please note: Full payment is required to process applications. These discounts apply to tuition only (not materials fees). Proof is required at registration.
Refunds are only issued if a programme is cancelled due to insufficient enrolment. No refunds after a programme starts.
No. Deferrals are not allowed either before or after the course starts.
If minimum enrolment is not met, the course is cancelled and fees are refunded. Refunds for cash payments are processed by cheque.
In-person or online course examination takes place on campus or at specified venues depending on qualifying body (i.e., QQI, Accounting Technicians Ireland, ITEC, City & Guilds, Irish Pharmacy Union). Please note: you will need to register and pay for your examination and ensure any projects or assignments have been submitted on time.

Yes. Submit a Learner Appeal Form with a €40 fee within 14 days of receiving your results.
No. Submitted coursework will not be returned. Please retain copies—both digital and hard copies—for your own records and in case of tutor requests. All hard copy materials will be securely disposed of by 30th September each academic year.
Certificates of Attendance are issued by post within two months of programme completion. Learners must have a minimum of 70% attendance to qualify.
Yes. A replacement certificate may be requested for a fee of €20.
Learners must contact the Adult Education Department at the beginning of their programme. Full details of the procedure will be provided during the first week. Applicants must submit a professional assessment outlining any learning difficulty or special need.
Issuing timelines vary depending on the awarding body. Learners should consult the relevant validating body’s website or contact the Examinations Officer for further information.
Yes. The campus reserves the right to withhold certificates or results from learners with outstanding fees, including tuition and examination charges.
The type of certificate you receive depends on the qualification linked to your course. Please bear in mind some courses are non-accredited. It is your responsibility to understand the award requirements for your chosen area of study. If you are working towards a full QQI Level 5 or 6 major award, make sure you are aware of the mandatory and optional modules.
