What is VTOS?
The Vocational Training Opportunities Scheme (or VTOS for short), is a full-time course of study for those aged 21 and over (or their spouse or partner), who are in receipt of a qualifying Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection (DEASP) payment.
Courses in VTOS range from core skills to advanced vocational training, where there is a wide choice of subjects. Our courses support learners to achieve a major award and prepare for employment. The courses are full-time and can last up to 2 years. Many courses lead to qualifications such as Junior Certificate, Leaving Certificate and awards from Levels 3 to 6 on the National Framework of Qualifications. Through a Work Placement programme, VTOS has established links with the local business community and developed employment opportunities.
This provision is co-funded by the Government of Ireland and the European Social Fund as part of the ESF Programme for Employability, Inclusion and Learning 2014 – 2020.
